Aacer Sports Flooring: Mountain West Conference
Aacer Sports Flooring built the court for the 2025 Mountain West basketball championships. We filmed it from start to finish.
"We are thrilled with the work you've done and all of your help!"
Jeremy Baseman, Aacer Sports Flooring
01 / The project
Aacer wanted one film that tells the whole story of a floor, from raw wood to a finished court set up for a client.
We started where the wood does, out in the forest. Then we spent several weeks in Aacer's Wisconsin shop in January and February 2025 and followed the floor onto the trucks in early March. From there we went to the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas for the install, March 5 to 7.
02 / The deliverables
- Long-form film (2:43)
- Shorter cuts for social media
- Interview clips cut into social posts
- The final film and other versions on the Aacer homepage
- Production photos
03 / The approach
In Wisconsin, Josh directed and shot most of it himself, with one second camera operator. We set up DJI action cams around the factory to catch time-lapses of the floor taking shape. We used the shop's own light and only brought lights for interviews.
In Vegas, Joe and Scott joined the crew. Josh directed, they ran cameras, and Josh flew the drone inside the arena. The trucks pulled up, the arena crew unloaded them, and the court went together fast.
We did the full edit in-house.
Gear: Sony FX6 as the main camera, with an FX3 and FX2 on Sony lenses. DJI Air 3 drone, flown by Josh (Part 107 licensed and insured). DJI RS4 gimbal.
Let's chat.
Same process every time: meet, plan, shoot, edit, deliver.
